UCSC-FT Laboratory, ISO:9001 certified, has demonstrated decades of experience in the analysis of bulk confiscations and of various biological samples for the identification of drugs and metabolites, including NPSs. Its activities are performed both for research and for application to forensic caseworks on DRDs and on living subjects. It is part of the Italian laboratories network of the focal point that reports to EUDA. Its role will be to identify and characterize NPSs, metabolites and dangerous cutting agents present in biological samples from DRDs and non-fatal intoxications and in exhibits/paraphernalia, if present. Cooperation with UNIBA in the development and application of omics non-targeted approaches for identifying NPS and “classical” drugs of abuse in biological specimens. Inter-laboratory validation. Feeding of the NARCOSIS platform with obtained data. Information sharing with /EUDA. Dissemination of results by presentations at scientific meetings, seminaries, publication of scientific papers.
